I was also suprised that we're not supposed to eat more than 3-4 ounces of cheese, but then I was used to getting high-carb junk (like rice and pasta-based dishes) with tons of cheese in it, mostly the synthetic, over-processed "cheese food" type.
It's much more enjoyable if you eat it alone, rather than mixed in foods like egg dishes.
I was considering dropping cheese, but he research that just came out that links calcium to weight loss changed my mind.
