Question Bread making on Atkins?

I was exploring on eBay and found a vendor selling mixes for bread that were specific to Atkins.

I DO hope to get back into low carb bread someday. Do any of you that have it buy it at supermarkets or do you make your own? Have you tried the Atkin's brand?

Trying to plan long term for this WOL, haven't weighed myself in days but do know the one thing I would like to add back to my life is a low carb bread that is Atkin's friendly.

Thumbs up Atkins Bread Mix

I made the Atkins Bread Mix Country White for the first time last week and it was heaven (but then again, I haven't had bread in awhile!). I made it my bread machine and it came out perfect. I slapped some butter on a slice when it was still hot and I was in hog heaven!! I put in the fridge and I still have half a loaf. I have a piece of toast every other morning w/my breakfast. It's better toasted after it has been in the fridge. I highly recommend it! They are supposed to be 3 net grams of carbs for a 1/2 inch slice which is what I tried to cut them to. I count 4 just in case!

Talking LC bread

Hi

We make Gabi's world famous bread, it the bread machine.
http://www.lowcarb.ca/recipes/rrecipe006.html
it's very good. I have a piece in the morning with my eggs.
It takes some practice to get it perfect. DH is better at making it than I am. We also made LC bread machine bread, I don't like it as much.

Cool

I have tried the Ketogenics Rye Bread (machine mix) and it turns out pretty good. Only 2 carbs/slice. I love to add cheese and pepperoni in the middle of the cycle (so it doesn't get smashed) and it comes out great!

Also, if you want bread already baked, I get this excellent bread from Better Nutrition website - My favorites are 7 grain w/cinnamon and 7 grain regular. Both of them are 1 carb/slice. The one w/cinnamon makes excellent French Toast!!

Living in southern california, there are TONS of health foods places that sell low carb mixes....I think it's the Tree Hugger in us SoCal people. Is there a Sweet and Sugar Free in your area? They sell TONS of low carb and sugar buster diet things- from muffins to bagels to pizza to pasta....the choices are endless. Albertson's is starting to carry a lot of Atkins things too...maybe check your local grocery store? Good luck!
