Default Net Carb question

How does this net carb thing work? Are we suppose to subtract fiber from the carb count of food?

The Atkins plan allows you to subtract the fiber from the total carb count in order for you to get the carb count that "counts". The theory is that the fiber is not digestible, so therefore does not have an effect on blood sugar.

Some countries allow labeling that already has the fiber subracted in the total carb count - be sure to check the labelin!

Thanks, for your reply.

I am on induction and actually losing some wieght this time but I don't want to mess up. I just need to have a cookie or somthing with my cup of tea an old habit. which I have having problems breaking. I brought a low carb chocolate chip cookies with a net carb count of 2 per cookie they are called soy bite. If I include this as part of my carb's for the day can I have it while on induction? I only need one cookie with my tea and it won't be an everday thing just when I am having major problems staying on the diet and I feel like I might cheat if I don't.

Induction is supposed to be induction foods only - it is designed for riding your body of its carb cravings, and get you into fat burning mode/ketosis. Also to get you out of bad habits.

If you cut your carbs and eat the cookie will it work? Probably, but might not be as much as it could be without it. If I were you I'd try to hold out for the 2 weeks, and then add the cookie.

You are doing good though, thinking things through and asking questions! Good job!!

Thanks for your reply. You have been such a help I did eat the cookie today but I will stick to the induction to the T going forward. I saw your stats and it was a complete inspiration for me. If you don't mind my asking how long as it taken you to lose the weight? I am asking because I am in the same boat you were when you started and I really want this to work for me. I have been using the Keto's stix's for over a week now and it has changed color but sometimes it is the first color of pink to moderate level next to last color purple The one thing I have a hard time with is drinking all the water and planning my meals

Here is what I eat can you tell me if this is okay because I haven't read the whole book yet.

Morning
Decafe coffee 8 oz with heavy cream about .5 ounce. - 1 1/2 splenda packets

1 Egg can't eat more then that some people said to have more then one

Lunch
Salad, with grilled chicken 1/2 tsp of of dressing
or
Grilled chicken and 1/2 cup of veg's

Dinner
2-3 hot dogs with some relish or a hamburger patty

Snack
Tea with some milk very little like 2-3 teaspoons and 1 1/2 splenda packets
