Post Take Prenatal Vitamins-Even If Not Pregnant

I was wondering what kinds of daily vitamins people are taking.

I have been taking PreNatal Vitamins for a few years, as recommended by my female GYN who does the same.

Even though I have not had children and do not have plans to, she suggested these vitamins when I asked what kind of supplement is good for me. The only difference I've noticed in these compared to general daily vits, is they provide more folic acid, calcium and iron - as those who are pregnant need more of these nutrients.

Prenatal supplements also contain iron, which helps protect you from becoming anemic. Excellent sources of iron include red meats, enriched cereal, liver, dried beans, dried peas and dried apricots. It's best to get nutrients from the food you eat; however, a supplement is helpful and should work with your food intake, not replace it of course.

You can now purchase these in Health Food stores and no longer have a prescription. I get mine at GNC. I think they are even cheaper if you buy them at stores vs. thru the Dr.

Default prenatals

I've had friends that took prenatals and told me it that the vitamins made their hair grow really healthy, thick and fast. I've never had this kind of luck with any multi vitamins so I'm wondering if anyone else has had this experience.

Default Prenatals and Hair Growth

Oh yes, I forgot about that...that was another thing the Dr. said, promotes hair and nail growth. The hair on my legs is just gorgeous! haha Just Kidding.

The only ones I've heard talk about substantial hair growth has been all my friends who were actually pregnant. So it may have been a hormonal thing along with the Pre-Nates assistance.

However, every now and then I wear hair extentions and clip on pony tails for fun. Here lately, I can recall 4 family members asking me if I was wearing my "fake" hair or if that was my real hair and I was shocked b/c it was all mine. So maybe it's helping my hair. I do have long hair about down to my bra strap and last night my husband even asked me if that was my own hair. I had even just cut 2 inches off last week.

Vitamins and lots of water are good for a healthy mane and I also take extra biotin supplements which is supposed to promote hair growth.
