Default Vegetables

Hi all,
I've only been on Atkins a week, so I'm still definately a newbie and have really appreciated the help I have found in this forum. I just had a few queries about vegetables during induction.
I don't understand Atkins' way of categorising veggies. I though sweet potato was lower carb than pumpkin, but that's not what it says in the book. In fact, by looking at the carb counter on this site, quite a few of the things he says to eat 1 cup of have lower carbs than those of the 2 cup category. Can anyone shed some light?
Also, I find the recipes on the Atkins site misleading. Why is it that the chicken and beef satays are listed as an induction meal, if you aren't allowed to have nuts at all? Ditto the macadamia and cilantro crusted salmon?
Thanks,
halo
