Default Ketone trace

I'm in day 3 and have done a ketosis test and I'm only showing a -trace of ketosis. I am following menu plan to a t--any input--does it take a few more days? (ok stupid question-I just started my period too, does the ketosis test make a difference during this time?)

Question

Everyone has different view on this...so here’s mine...
If you are doing no activities…another wards, basically going and doing what you did before…no extra workouts or anything. Then you will reach a higher level…somewhere in the purple. Read where people say this is good…and some think its bad. I think it’s good…if you are not working out!! If you are working out…like the way I started doing this week… will go up and down. The days I do…treadmill 2 a day & weights heavy I show pink {I’m when I’m able to work out harder it will so nothing}…the days I only do treadmill I show light purple…when I did nothing I stayed in Dark purple. From what I understand this is because if you are burning the ketones they will not spill over into your urine…if your not…not working out…then they will.
I’m sure there will be allot of different views on this…but this is mine…and also the way my body works.
You will have to figure your body out. Everyone is different.
Good luck,
Lorraine

Default Ketosis Test

Hello Sachi

I am certainly no expert (6 days into diet) however I do believe if you drink alot of water it can dilute the result shown on the sticks. For example I have done a test, drank 2 pints of water & tested half an hour later and got a much weaker result. Try testing first thing in the morning or last thing at night.

But don't drink less water just to test this theory, as plenty of water is essential to this diet.

Question

See I don't know...I mean I drink a GOOD 4 litters a day...and mine seems to have alot to do with how much or if I work out. Which makes sense to me because the ketones get used as energy...and if your burning them...less are going to spill over. Right?
Still it may just come back done to each person...who knows!
