Hi Sandee and welcome to this forum.

So today is the start of your Atkins induction. Keep to it and you should see quite a few pounds disappear over then next two weeks - very encouraging. Have you taken your measurements too? It is a worthwhile thing to do, as sometimes, later on the inches disappear when the scales don't show changes.

I hope that you've read the book fully and so know exactly what to do. I'm just started reading it again and I've been low carbing since August.

This week may be a bit up and down for you as your body gets used to not having carbohydrates - you may get some withdrawl symptoms - but stick with it, because by week 2 you will be noticing other benefits as well.

You might like to start a journal on this site to keep track of your progress. It is a great record of your achievement as well as a place for others to call in and say hello and offer advice. Another thing to consider is getting an account on Fitday.com - the easy way to keep track of your food intake.

May I wish you every success and may the pounds begin to drop away.
