Question Best rice substitute for Maki?

I'm dying for Maki. I can't decide if I should replace the rice with shredded, steamed:
A) Cauliflower
B) Daikon
C) Turnip (I don't think so)
D) Something that hasn't ocurred to me yet.

Any thoughts? I'm itching for another excuse to use my Soy sauce/Splenda/Wasabi condiment!

Thanks in advance!

How about D)? There are suggestions in these links for making something tasty and sushi like. Believe me, you don't need to imitate the rice.

Default Rice substitute.

Hi

I've read somewhere that you can use finely shredded cauliflower fried in olive oil as a substitute for rice. I've tried it and liked it. I had minced meat with mushrooms and onions with it.

If you try it, let us know what you think.
