Question Mucus?

Hi. I'm very sorry if this question is gross to anyone! My boyfriend and I are on induction and (day 7) we both have some sort of mucus (sometimes) or something like it in the upper throat, tonsil area. Is this something to do with induction or the foods we are eating? That sounds pretty gross to me, sorry.
Thank you,
Stacey

Stacey,

I can only speak from personal experience (there may be other causes). For me, I found that I was experiencing the same thing. I spoke with my doctor about it and he said that milk and dairy products naturally cause thickening of the mucus we have in our lungs and throat etc. As soon as I cut back on dairy it cleared. If I eat too much dairy it starts all over again. This may or may not be what is happening for you. Hope it clears up for you soon. Happy LCing!

Betsy

Hi MissBetsy and thank you for your response! And so quick too! I can see how dairy could be a cause but before we started Atkins I was a dairy freak and would drink at least 3 to 4 (sometimes more) glasses of skim milk a day. Although I didn't eat cheese too often because I was following the "low fat" thing. Maybe the cheese is causing it because I am eating a lot more of it this past week.
Thanks!
Stacey
