Question Losing pounds not inches

I am doing fine with Atkins after a little more than a month...I've lost close to 20 lbs ....but only lost about an inch at the beginning, and then no more. Does that sound right? Now I seem to be stuck....still losing weight, but my belly goes up or down by a half inch and no real net loss. I thought I'd see some steady progress along with the weight loss. Seems strange to me.

are you only measuring your belly? Mine, until the past couple days, has been stuck at the same place (or ocasionally goes up!) as I started from. However, I lost 2 inches off my hips and 1.5 off of my bust, as well as all the other places I measured. So it may mean that you're just losing elsewhere and not the tummy.

Thumbs up

Well, men lose differently than women, but I'm measuring both my waist and hips. I may very well be losing elsewhere....or I may be losing muscle as well as fat.

I'll see how it is in another month or so. Today I'm just happy my test results came back, and showed that after a month, my trigylcerides and cholestorol are way down, my HDL is up a little, and even two badly elevated liver enzymes are dramatically improved - one back to normal, and the other cut in half (milk thistle helped with that). I'm thrilled!

great!! It's like magic, isn't it?

I'm trying to think of what else it might be, unless it's coming off in weird places first (the first place I lost was from my feet). If it were only being replaced by muscle, then you'd not register weight loss, but would register inches lost. Maybe you're gaining water-plumped muscle?

Now I'm curious!
