Default fITDAY WOES

Okay, I am really trying to understand fitday. But when I enter in my custom foods it keeps telling me that the calories don't match the fat etc for the food. I am entering the nutritional info right off the box. What am I doing wrong?

I have this problem when I try to enter things with sugar alcohols. I agree, it is very frustrating. I usually just juggle the numbers around a bit. As long as I get the right carb number, that's all I worry about.

Things like bars have glycerine thus it is hard to put them into FITDAY without playing around with the numbers which will not give you the accurate nutritional counts. Must be why I stay away from bars???

I put take the net carb count and add the fiber count and list that in the carb section.
then I add the fiber in the fiber section because I deduct at the end of the day and I like to know how much fiber I eat.

Sometimes fitday will do that plain and sometimes they wont.

When they wont I take half the amount of sugar alcohols and I put it in the alcohol section.

That usually works just fine for me and doesnt mess up my counts. It also shows that I ate something 'bad' for me when I see the purple there.

when I have this problem of entering custom foods and it says the calories should be xx, I just change the calories to reflect what it says because I have adjusted the carbs, fat etc. less carbs = less calories!
As long as my carb count is right on I think I am ok!

The problem with that is you are not taking in less calories.

If a bar lists as 250 calories and you list it as 125 you are still taking in 250 calories.

Even though you are subtracting sugar alcohols and other stuff doesnt mean they dont add calories.

But when I enter a custom food - say a low carb pasta sauce, I use a generic food, and off of the food label I use the per serving amounts- less calories, carbs, fat etc then I should be ok or not?
