Refeeding & Eucaloric Diet
I'm not sure that I should be posting this thread here, but I think the experts about this topic ARE here, so I led the horse to water.
I put on some weight last Christmas that I've been trying to get rid of very slowly. I average about 1/2 pound loss per week and I work out about 3 times/week. Anyway, I was down to 3 pounds off my goal weight when one day I got very hungry and started to binge on roughly 3200 calories worth of legal foods. I had seen it coming for several days but assumed I was having some blood sugar problems to some new foods in my diet.
I think the problem was my body's resistance to starvation mode. I did a little researching on leptins and refeeds using high glycemic carbs. However, the problem is I'm a sugar addict. I've finally got this under control and I think traditional refeeds could really unwind me. I noticed an article that talked about refeeding using a eucaloric (maintenance) diet for 2-3 days. Has anyone ever tried this? It didn't go into the specifics of a eucaloric diet. I'm guessing they mean the same composition of nutrients, just at maintenance levels?
Thanks for any help I can get,
Wanda
