I think most of the people here follow a relatively high fat, moderate protein, low carb diet. I did do a couple projects for a few weeks that rotated the amounts and types of foods. This second project that I did involved two Stillman's days a week, with low carb and low fat. I did lose on those days, similar to a fat fast day, but I wasn't a happy camper. I found egg whites to be disgusting and plain chicken very boring. I loved my regular Atkin's days when I ate eggs fried in butter and bacon, had generous salad dressing etc. They were effective for weight loss but it also could have been the results of the rotation of days of the project. My calories were very low on Stillman days and it's hard to keep them up when the food is unappetizing. My theory is, in conjunction with Dr. Atkins, is that it takes an abundance of fat in the diet to loose fat. Your body is not willing to give up what it does not easily get. It will not give up water, but retain it, if you're not drinking enough water. Drink extra water and the body knows it's getting enough and therefore will not retain it. Eat enough fat and your body know it doesn't need to store it anymore and will start using up it's fat stores in a more efficient manner.
My 2 cents.
