Default Need Idea'a

I am a VERY fussy eater and do not like a lot of things. I need some cooking ideas that are quick and taste good. Here are some of the things that I like:

RAW carrots
Corn
Lettuce
potatoes
Chicken
Rice
Kraft Dinner
Hot Dogs
Soup
Grill cheese sandwiches.

I would like to loose about 15 pounds within the next month and a half. There are more things that I dislike that I like. How can I loose the weight, but still stay healthy

Have you looked at the recipes on this site??
I'm sure you'll find something. Also there are millions of low-carb recipes onthe internet - type in low carbohydrate recipes on any search engine and I'm sure you will find some. These 2 sites at least have them in sections easy to sort through.
Try:

http://www.titanic.kn-bremen.de/allrec.html

or

http://www.camacdonald.com/lc/LowCa....htm#Eggs%20and

I'm not sure if you like eggs - but this is one of my favourites:

Wendye’s Yummy Frittata (it's good for lunches or snacks)

4 rashes bacon (finely diced)
1 clove garlic (crushed/diced)
1 leek/1 onion (finely diced)
1 large grated zucchini (squeeze out juice)
10 small mushrooms (diced) (or 4 flat ones)
1/3 red capsicum (diced)
300ml cream
8 eggs
1 cup tasty cheese and parmesan cheese (combined)
1 tspn powdered chicken stock
salt/papper to taste

1. Sautee bacon, add garlic, onion, zucchini, mushroom, capscum and cook gently until softened.
2. beat eggs and cream
3. Oil (Spray) a quiche dish (or mini muffin pans).
4. Stir Bacon mixture into egg mixture then add the cheese and season with stock and salt/pepper
5. Pour into dish/pans
6. Cook at 180 degrees until set.
YUMMY

You like chicken - This is another favourite
what about -
mushrooms, onion or leek, bacon, chicken drumtix or thighs or thigh fillets in pieces. Cook all ingred. add chicken and a carton of cream asn simmer until tender - YUMMY!

Anyway good luck - hope you find something you can eat - sandwiches are really out as is corn you know??

Good luck Wendye

Ya know the only things on your list that are low carb is the chicken and lettuce? Fussy eater or not, you may have a tough time doing low carb if you won't eat or try anything but what you listed.

Other choices would be:
brocolli, cauliflower, green beans, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, mushrooms, radish, cucumbers, eggplant, asparagus

beef, pork, lamb, fish, shellfish, veal

eggs

cheese

olive oil, butter

fresh or dried herbs

The stuff you listed isn't exactly what I would term a healthy diet. More of a high starch one.

Default get on a plan

Hi again,

When reading your entry again - i can see that you are not on a plan. That explains why you have listed so many high carbohydrate foods on the list of foods you like.

I really think you need to do some reading - on this site about the different low carb eating plans (I don't like to call them diets). Then go out and buy that particular book. You need to be well -informed so others don't tell you it's rubbish and so you understand what to do and then choose some foods that suit because rice, bread, corn, potatoes etc are definitely out. As are any thickened soups etc.
Low carb means basically NO STARCH - good luck let us know how you go and what you decide.

In addition to picking a plan and then reading the book to educate yourself - and education is a KEY part of properly adopting a low-carb lifestyle - you also need to evaluate your goals and such. Given the amount of weight you need to lose, it will probably be impossible to lose it in six weeks - and if you do the means you use will probably not be healthy and will probably result in almost immediate rebound weight gain. You need to be looking at adopting permanent lifestyle changes - and as you do that the weight will take care of itself.
