What we are missing here is that protein can readily be converted into sugar if your brain needs it. Therefore, whether the brain needs sugar or not is a mute point. However, I have read in some places that it needs some glucose as well as the ketone bodies. Sure, glucose is considered the primary fuel source for the brain, but most nutritionists consider it the primary fuel source for the body in general
