I dont think you are having enough carbs and your calories may be a little low also. The caffiene from the coffee isnt helping you at all either. I looked at several days of your fitday menu's and you usually consumed around 15-18 carbs per day, but you didnt take into account the fiber from those carbs. You actually only had between 8-12 carbs per day which is way too low. Add more salad and broccoli and cauliflouer and other veggies that are allowed. I'll bet you see a difference before long. Gotta get those carbs up and eat a few more calories and possibly get rid of the coffee.

Just my two cents, but this comes from the research that I have done about this WOE.

Hi Calmeida! I was looking at you food journal.

You said you were still on Induction but you are consuming stuff that you are not allowed to on induction: Atkins says: no caffeine, no Aspartame, no grapefruitjuice, no strawberries.

Also people on the forum have complained about stalls when they use the Atkins shakes or bars.

I check some of your days and you are not eating enough calories...1000-1287 is too low in my opinion...if I were you I would try to keep them at 1800 ( although it should be at least 10X your present weight (1900 for you, but is kind of high); you should adjust your caloric intake down as you lose.

Please anyone correct me if I am wrong about her calories.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi Claudia...

It looks like you are on the right track. If you have the Atkins book, pay close attention to exactly what is allowed on induction. There will be plenty of time to add a bit of the goodies you like late.

For some general guidelines...

Calories, 10 x your weight i.e. 180=1800 calories

Pay attention to the percentages shown on your fitday totals and aim for 65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs. We have been brainwashed for a long time about calories. You don't have to eat just the lean part of the steak. Eat it all and put a pat of butter on top if you want. Caffein and aspartame will slow you down.

At least, that is what I have learned so far, and learned it all here. This is a super forum and you will find that everyone here, being in the same boat. wants to help you.

I can't say enough that Atkins is NOT a quick weight loss program even though many people lose several pounds on induction. This is an eating pattern for life and induction is just the first baby step.

WE CAN DO THIS!
Sue

Default Wow!

Thank you so much for all your help!

I thought that perhaps one cup or two of coffee a day would not matter. I have to stay up late at night to study (i'm pre-med) and often need the perk!

Also, the past few days I've tightened the belt and had nothing that was not supposed to be in induction (I think) and I'm in ketosis, just not seeing much weight loss. I have always been a slow loser, so I'll hang in there and avoid becoming a "sore" loser!

Let's all hang in together and become "losers" together!!!
