Angry Now what?

I have been checking my ketones which have been in the second highest for 6 days, but today I checked and they are barely above 0!
I didn't cheat why is this happening?

Either a) read the book or b) search the threads.

They will tell you the simple answer to your question...which is the colour doesn't make any difference unless you are a diabetic checking to see if you're about to die.

My friend is in the dark areas almost all the time, and I'm in the pale pink, and I lose weight and inches faster than she does.

ETA: Didn't mean to sound snarky...I just meant there's lots of reassuring stuff out there on this topic.

Have you been drinking a lot of water? I changed my keto check from pm to am because of all the water I drink diluting the amount of ketones. Or, maybe hidden carbs? Don't worry! Even light pink means you are in ketosis. Relax! Good LUCK!

Did you do the check after exercising? Light exercise will cause you to burn them off instead of spilling them into your urine.

No I had not been excercising! I dont know maybe I am worried over nothing, it is just that from what I have heard from other people is they "stall" when they stop getting the darker colors!

Meghan -

If you consume more than 50 carb per day you wont show Ketones it says in Atkins Book. Also, if you drink lots of water you will have the lightest readings. Ketostix are useful but I would not put too much trust in them for your only reference of results! Messurements are much more reliable.

First off a stall is to not lose any lbs OR inches for over 4 weeks.

Next, if they are the lightest of pink or the darkest of purple you are still in ketosis and are burning fat. It is like saying you are just a bit pregnant.

Now step away from the sticks and relax....
