Another possessor of those rotten diverticuli here.
I have found since low carbing that if I have as much as 30g fibre, I have more pain and diarrhoea than ever.
I usually get between 10 and 20, with lots of vegies and 1 tablespoon of psyllium husks (the active ingredient of metamucil
) every morning. I stay pretty much symptom free.
As for Induction, I think in your case you can use a little discretion. I worked out some time ago, that you can have a lot more than the prescribed 3 cups salad/vegies if you count all the carbs. I think Dr Atkins assumed we would be eating eggs, cheese, cream and other sources of carbs as well as the 3 cups of vegies.
