Cool Water Intake (and output)

Hey all, I'm a bit of a newbie to LCing and the Forum in general, so I want to say a quick hi!

I've read hundreds of threads in this forum on water, water weight, water drinking, etc.

Here's what I'm wondering:

I drink 3-4 liters per day, yet the river never seems to run clear, know what I mean? I've tried pounding more and more water, even twice that amount per day, but it's just not quite the same as it was before I began to LC.

It's commonly known that that's a sign of dehydration but in my case it obviously isn't. I try to eat <30 carbs per day and I'm very active jogging/biking/pilates etc, so I have reasons to believe that I'm in ketosis more often then not. I've read that ketones are expelled from the body (thanks kidneys!), could that be the source of the constant color? Anybody else in this situation?

hey,
my p is always dark and has a smell even when i have drank a lot of water. some times it is light but not often. the oder is a sure fire way of knowing your in ketosis. it is usually darkest in the morning and the ketostrips are usually dark purple(moderate) in the morning.

i hope i did not blow it tonight with the slaw.

visit my journal!

Actually, most doctors will tell you that's a myth. You want your pee to be a pale yellow, straw color. That means you're hydrated properly.

Supplements will also sometimes have a dye effect, so if you're on some colourful meds, you'll never quite get pale yellow!

I think it's B complex vitamins that can make your urine a bright yellow. I know what ever it is, there is some in my One A Day Weight Control multis. A little bit after taking them it's bright yellow when usualy it's clear to pale yellow.

Yeah, the B vitamins really make an amazing color change. Mine stays a funny color for about 18 hours after I take the supplements, and since I take them every 24 hours, that doesn't leave much time for the usual pale pale yellow color.

(Sorry if this is TMI!)

Yes .. riboflavin (vit. B2) is a dye ... and also beta-carotene, if your supplement has that instead of, or in addition to vit. A.
