Talking Grass-fed meat sources - US and Canada

I'm sure this has been brought up before, but the nature of such a forum where newbies like myself find things and bring them up, is such that these rehashed pieces of information can help remind old-timers and inform others new to the forum.

I am very interested in finding sources of grass-fed meat. I did find this:
http://www.eatwild.com/
Which has all kinds of info on the benefits of grass-fed as well as as way to find some of the places that offer such products.

Another source seems to be:
http://www.eatwellguide.org/search.cfm

I also found a commercial enterprise that ships anywhere in the continental US. I've not tried them, nor do I have any relationship with them, but at least their website is saying all of the right things, and the prices seem reasonable.
http://www.lgbeef.com/

I'm wondering if any of the regulars here have other information for sources, or know either of the organizations mentioned above? I think I've found a place nearby and hope to contact them to see what kind of products they offer and how they raise and process their meat.

Omnivorously yours,
PlaneCrazy

There is a store near my home which sells grass fed meats. They get their meat from Rowe Farms (http://rowefarms.com/). You can also have the farm raise an animal for you which they will do so and then butcher and package the animal for you. During the warmer months the animals mainly graze in the pastures which lowers the cost overall for the consumer.

I have tried the ground beef and the eggs from Rowe Farms and they are very good. A bit more expensive then supermarket prices but good.

Wholefoods has grass fed hamburger here in colorado, not sure if you've got a wholefoods near where you live?

Regarding your link, there is also a store here that sells the grasslands beef. I'd recommend it, it's very good.

It's very expensive online. We've tried pure grass fed steaks from Whole Foods and a local farm, also expensive, and found them to be tougher than grain fed because they're leaner. Is the Grasslands any different? I'll eat anything, but my wife doesn't like the taste--she prefers Colemans because it has more fat.

I think I had one of the steaks once, and it was pretty tough. What I've been getting is the grasslands hamburger, which isn't tough at all, just don't overcook it too much. Also, the hamburger is less expensive, maybe you could try that instead.
