Default how long for ketosis to set in?

okay, how long does it take a person who has eaten carbs, chocolates, sweets to get into ketosis?

I believe that it takes up to 48 hours to clear out your system and get back into ketosis.

is it 48 hours for a normal person? because i eat carbs all day long and i want to start atkins but wondering how long it will take

48 hours is average, that is what it takes me. I start first thing in the morning after not eating all night. That gives you 8-12 hours head start.

If you think of it in terms of using up the chemical sugars and sugar derivatives in you system (muscles, blood & liver), 48 -72 hours, depending on the starting levels AND your level of activity. Obviously, if you hit the cardio really hard you'll burn your sugars faster.

If you're not in ketosis in three-four days, you're probably ingesting hidden carbs.

It could kick in in two days, but don't count on it. Remember, Your Mileage May Vary . . .
