Default Question if you have lost 100# or more?

I'm curious how many of you out there that have lost mega pounds...did you get a tummy tuck? or any other kind of surgery for the excess skin???

My mom is telling me that when I reach goal she will pay for the tummy tuck....yah!

In the past I have lost between 50-200 pounds several times. After you loose the weight, your body takes several months and moves stuff around ( not kidding) . I never had sagging problems ( breasts excluded) . Good old excersize and massages help firm and tone. I think these are safe methods. You could not pay me to have any type of surgury unless my life was in danger. Just my faith in the medical community.

Red face I agree

Amen, sister, I don't want any surgery either. Even tho' I haven't lost a large amount, I do have a very noticable "flap" of skin which hangs over my hip bones. It has greatly reduced since I've been on Atkins, and I'm looking forward to it becoming even smaller, b/c I faithfully lift weights. It's a GREAT way to sculpt your body all over!!

Good Luck to you-

Talking

I have also lost more than 100...133+ actually.

I think losing slowly and caring for your skin helps a great deal. I am not certain about if I'll want a tummy tuck later. Having seen pictures of it, I worry about the pain and recovery.

Here's a link to some other discussions about skin recovery...

Good luck!

I have known someone who went from 500-600lbs down to 200 and he had to have surgery because no matter what he did the flaps of skin stayed. If after you lose weight and find exercise isn't help it go for it if it makes you happy. It's all about what makes you happy.

If when I reach goal I don't need surgery..then by all means...I don't need it! But, If I do...which I can't imagine I won't with all this weight..then i sure would like to! Not just the tummy...but anywhere I may need it! My thought on this is that...I feel like this is going to be the first time in my entire life that I will be able to reach goal weight....mind you, I have been dieting since I was 6 years old...and have never ever reached goal weight. So, when I do this time....I'm going to look my absolute best damn it!

And, regarding the pain....ain't nothing worse than 3 c-sections!!!
