Default forbidden fruit

Could anyone explain why fruits are strictly forbidden during induction ?
What would be wrong with eating berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries,etc.) or even half of a small apple or orange as long as I don't exceed 10g in one sitting and 20g in a day?
