Unhappy More questions on induction--please help!

Hi!
First I have to tell you how much I enjoy this site! Having everyone in the same boat, so we all know how we feel. I have been on induction for 13 days. I have lost 4 pounds so far. If you eat 20 carbs or under...but add foods like nuts (etc...) healthy things, can you still loose weight? I stick with mostly every induction food, but when I want something different, I eat it. Will I not loose much this way? Or should I do it by the book? Any suggestions? I'd appreciate it!

Hi Javamama

Looks like you're doing ok so far! The expected average weight loss during induction is 10% of what you have to loose....and you've already lost more than that.

Atkins would say no...you are not allowed to have any foods not on the list during induction. This is designed to kick-start your body into burning fat instead of carbs. It's designed to break the cycle of insulin resistance.

Nuts make some people stall....even after many weeks of LCing.

I'd say if the nuts aren't causing problems, you're getting enough calories, fat, protein, and carbs, you're eating your veggies, and drinking plenty of water....and you're loosing and feel good....keep at it.

Just watch the carbs....and the serving size. Nuts are one thing that is very easy to over-do.

Keep at it....you're obviously doing something right!

Also....you dont' have that much to loose....how long are you planning on staying on induction? You'd probably do well to start ongoing weight loss....and as you add carbs you can have nuts if you want.
