Default My bars are cool!

Hi --

Without knowing the ingredients or the process you are using my answer to this cannot precisely address your case, but I can tell you what I do. My bars are cool -- cool because I store them in the refrige!

My homemade protein bars use peanut butter, butter, Splenda, and protein powder. I would not calssify the process of making them as "cooking" because no heat is involved, other than softening the wet ingredients. Basically I just comine everything, place in a glass pan and refrigerate. After a night or so of chilling I cut the fabrication into bars and store in plastic containers in the refrige. A batch usually produces two containers worth, with about a dozen bars each.

This will easily last the three weeks is takes me to eat them -- but then what in the ingredients is going to go bad?! I think peanut butter will survive the nuclear war -- just 12-foot cockroaches eating peanut butter!

Hope this helps -- Vimala
