Hello I'm uskhi

I hope I'm doing things right by posting here not on the introduction thread, this site is so impressive but a bit complicated for a novice like me. I have been reading the UK thread for several months now, I started Atkins August 29th 2003 and apart from a 4 week break over Christmas (yes 4 weeks was a bit excessive I gained 7 lbs but have now lost them and I'm back on track) have found it suprisingly easy to stick to.

My husband has now joined me which makes meals easier but his stupendous weight loss is a bit demoralising for me so I decided to get posting and organise some support for me. I've lost 17 lbs so far, not much as I have a lot to loose, but the first time in years that I have started a year weighing less than the previous one and probably the first time ever I have been able to stick with a diet.hit post new thread

I have been using fitday which I found out about here, hubby says whoever compiled the low carb beer list is his hero as he refused to do Atkins if beer was not allowed and the amount of information has been so useful. I feel I know some of you already and I really want to join in so now I will cross my fingers and hit submit new thread, here goes!

Hi uskhi
I'm half way through induction..This site is really good. Loads of support and everyone is in the same boat. I think this diet is great. Once you get into it its easy to follow and you get results which is very encouraging. Don't worry that your husband is losing more...you will lose at your own pace...

Hi ukshi, welcome to the board as a poster rather than a lurker

It's a well-known fact that men lose more quickly than ladies *boo* so don't let that worry you. Just keep posting and you'll find we're a really nice bunch to chat with

Hi Uskhi

Welcome to this forum. Great that you are no longer a lurker. How nice to have your husband join you on the low carb way of life.

You are doing well so far. Congratulations on those 17 pounds gone. I know how good it feels to start the year slimmer than the last. I've been low carbing for 2.5 years now and am back to 1987 in the weight stakes.

Continued success. Good for you on using Fitday. Keep at it.
