Unhappy OMG I thought I was being sooo good...

I thought that having a 1/4 chicken for a meal was not a bad thing as my lunch so I bought one from Red Rooster, I just checked their website and found out that it has 11.9g Carbs in it????? - so does this mean all chickens from like Henny Penny, Woolworths and Coles all have this same level of carbs in them?????

I thought I had been sooo good on induction this week and now I found out I blew 2 days of only 6 this week .... I was feeling soo good too until now !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't sweat it, Fiona!

You HAVE been really good, matey. One little blip won't make a major difference. All part of the learning experience. Next time, you'll check first.

But 11.9 carbs is not a huge amount. Just think, before low carbing, you'd have eaten several hundred carbs in a day.

I can't tell you about the carbs in the other chook brands. Maybe they've all got their own websites?

Anyway, matey, just carry on with your eating plan, and you'll be fine. Don't let one little blip upset you.

{{hugs}}

Thanks Rosebud,

This was the first time I had been on an eating plan that I had worked soooo hard to be one and that I had kept to even when it got hard.... I felt deflated!

But I read your message, resisted to urge to bury my head in the fridge and eat and eat and did something else instead...

Oh I had a good cry as well - which worked wonders .....

thanks for your support

Fiona

Hi FionaC,

11.9g sounds excessive- perhaps that includes the stuffing / breading and herbs?

Just a thought.

Fergus.

hi fiona

i think i agree with fergus, sounds like they've over-estimated the amount of carbs in that chicken. but either way, don't sweat it

thanks guys, I did think about what Fergus said and I rang Red Rooster Customer assistance and guess what - it is measured with a "serve" of stuffing - so apparently the chicken is only worth about 4.2 (or 4.6 I forget) g carbs for the quarter ...

hmmm the local chicken shop seasons their own and doesn't add sugar and is willing to give me a list of the seasonings they use .. I think I will get my chickens from there from now on

thanks Guys - much appreciated
