Just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Michelle and I live in New Orleans, LA. It isn't the easiest place to change your way of eating, all the good food and all. I am married and hve 10yr old twin daughters, Holly & Abigail. I work nights as a cricital care nurse.(you think I would know better) I started South Beach Diet a little over 2 weeks ago and have lost 15lbs. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I am determined to make this my way of life.

You certainly have a tough row to hoe. I'm dreading a trip to New Orleans on New Years 'cause I know I'm gonna want to revisit all of those great eateries...Arnaud's, Antoin's, the Rib Room at the Royal Orleans, Brennan's and Commander's Palace...boy, I could just eat my way across your town! But I won't (this time)...I'm going to be very, very good, and not even think about the pralines.

My wife is an ICU nurse too, and she has a hard time with all the goodies around the nursing station that the patient's families are always bringing (not to mention the constant stream of fast food the staff orders.) My heart goes out to you with your twin handicaps (location & occupation). Still, my wife and I have both been doing Atkins since May, and we're managing to shed some pounds; you'll be able to do it too.
