Default Greetings and Salutations

Hello everyone!

My name is Shannon and I am 27. I have been on the Atkins diet since July. I have lost 46lbs and I'm only 20lbs to my goal!

I'm really excited to be a new member of this forum. Since the holidays I have only maintained what I have lost so far. I have found it a lot harder to resume the weight loss then it was to start. I have come to the conclusion that I'm sick of eating the same meals every week, therefore I am really looking forward to all the new recipes.

Best of luck to you all!

The holidays are tough. There is some research that suggests weight loss slows in the winter, anyway - I guess we need that extra layer of fat for the cold days!
But don't be discouraged, it will happen again.
Have you tried the deep dish pizza quiche recipe? To die for.
Lots of good ideas on this site - good luck to you!

Thumbs up Yes!

Yes! I've had the pizza quiche twice already. It's incredible! The cheddar cheese crackers are my new addiction. I don't know why I didn't think of those myself!

Maintaining a 46 pound weight loss over the holidays and mid-winter is an achievement. You should give yourself a pat on the back for doing that instead of getting down on yourself for not losing more. I bet that, like most of us, you usually gained weight between November and February in past years.

I think that everyone is going to find sticking to their eating plan and losing weight easier as the days get longer and warmer.

Yes, congrats on maintaining. That in itself is an accomplishment, considering the holiday season, winter blahs, etc. Since you're aiming for a permanant change, you're doing fine.

I've still barely made a dent in the recipe section.

Welcome and enjoy!
