Default Yeehaaaa! Pepsi with Splenda!

This is the moment I have been waiting for. Pepsi is coming out with Pepsi Edge this summer sweetened with Splenda. I couldn't tell if it also contained sugar or not...but am happy with the news just the same.

And does it still have caffine? I know its kinda silly, but i kicked the sugar and caffine habbit, and pepsi was my daemon back then. I'd be afraid to drink it if i could get addicted to the caffine again!

I would guess it probably does. I was looking in my Calorie/Fat/Carb/Sodium/Fiber/Calcium/Caffeine Counter Book and it had a listing for "RC Edge" which had almost twice as much Caffeine as regular Cola. That made me wonder if the term "Edge" meant Higher Caffeine.

The above quote is from a different thread, but it fits in here too. I'm going to check it out. Letting everyone else know too.

Diet Rite is sweetened with Splenda (Sucralose) and Sunette (Ace-K.) It is basically Caffeine Free Diet RC. If I remember correctly, Diet RC [which I have yet to actually find anywhere in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, or Texas] is sweetened with Splenda Only, but contains Caffeine. Diet Rite availability varies by area.

I've found the best areas to be North Alabama (Hartsel) and Central Texas (Waco,) where I actually found it in Soda Machines as well as in 20 oz. Bottles. I've found the 20 oz. Bottles in Central Alabama (Montgomery) and South Georgia (Baxley,) but no Soda Machines. In Central/South Florida (Leesburg, Tamarac, etc...) they have the 12 packs at decent prices, and put them on sale reasonably frequently. Up here in NW Florida (P'Cola,) you'll NEVER find Diet Rites on sale, and 90% of the time everyone is sold out of the 2 Liters [most likely because they cost half as much ounce for ounce as the 12 Packs.]

I know everyone's bummed about the Pepsi and Coke lc drinks not really being for us low carbers. However, on the upside, my kids don't like regular diet drinks but they do like the so-called lc drinks. And since they have a lot less sugar I'm more inclined to buy them than the regular ones.

I have to admit, I've gone back to drinking some diet soda. Fortunately, I live in North Carolina and not only is Diet Rite available (but I don't like the cola version) they do have really good Diet Rites in Tangerine, Red Rasberry and White Grape flavors! The tangerine and raspberry flavors are my favorite. All are sweetened with Splenda and have no caffine. They're also cheap.

Guess I'm lucky, but I do have to cut back some. I'm starting to get tired of them which is a good thing. Back to water for me.
