Post decafinated coffee with sweetner.

Hello everybody. I am new with this DR. Atkins diet and I love it. I am now one and a halve week on it and lost 7 pound. My question is this. My daughter came yesteday to me and told me that I could count drinking a cup of decafinated coffee with a sweetner for a glass of water. I could not find anything about this in Dr. ATkins book. Is anybody able to answer this question. Thank you.
Rita

Your answers may vary on this one but I would say no...drink the coffee if you want it but still get in your recommended amount of water. Water hydrates you and coffee doesn't. I have read that you shouldn't count anything for your water except your water. Just my opinion. Good luck!

Lori is right. Coffee and water affect our bodies in opposite ways. Water hydrates and coffee DEhydrates.

decaf coffee has carbs in it, most sweeteners have carbs in them.
drink your coffee if you wish, count the carbs and you still need to drink your recommended amount of water.
