Question Slight confussion !

Hello everyone.

I bought some Linseed ( flax seeds) today, and was wondering what the carb count is per 100g.

The bag doesn't have a nutrition table, and when I looked at one in another shop a couple of days ago I was under the impression that the carbs were about 5-10 ish. But the carb counter brings them up at about 35 ish, is this because of the fiber? or am I completely confussed.

Any comments to straighten out my Linseed mystery would be welcomed.

Low carbing is such an adventure .

Thanks

Bungle.

Hi Bungle, I've just looked up flax seed on Fitday. It gives 53 carbs for a cup (about 200g I think) and 43 carbs is fibre, so since you subtract the fibre, 10 carbs effectively for 200g, so 5 for 100g, which is what you thought.
Hope that's useful. Do you know about Fitday incidentally? Find it at Fitday.com, its free and very good for tracking food intake etc. Ignore this if this is egg-sucking advice!
Take care, Jay
