Question prepackaged salad and turkey??

Hey, I started induction today and thankfully have the help of my family. My mom bought some prepackaged salad and turkey breast, but both of the packaged indicate that they have carbs and sugar in them. I don't know if it's from the veggies and meat of from additives that were added. Here are what the bags say...

Salad:1.5 cups
Total carbs: 3 g
Fiber: 1g
Sugar: 2g

Turkey: 1 slice
Total carbs:2g
Sugars 2g
-----contains less that two percent salt, sugar, food starch, dextrose, flavoring.

Any info would be appreciated...I just don't want to screw this up, Thanks

Samantha

All salad has carbs, so don't worry about those, just count them in your daily total. Remember to count net carbs= total carbs-fiber. The turkey has added sugar, for future reference look at the nutritional info on any processed meats to see if sugar is an ingredient & try to avoid those. You're better off cooking some chicken, turkey, or whatever meat yourself to avoid the sugar, nitrates & other chemicals used in processing plus pure meat contains no carbs. But for now the turkey will be Ok for you as long as you count the carbs there too.

Thanks for the info! I really appreciate the feedback. I think I'll stay away from the turkey for induction just to be sure. I'm trying to stay really strict (I'm only on the 1st day....)

Thanks,
Sam
