I'm surprised you would ask this. You've been here for a while. This is usually a newbie question. But then again, I'm always re-reading DANDR and I always find something "new" after 9 1/2 months of LCing. But yes, the TOM causes weight gain (mostly through water retention). I put on 2-3 lbs. before, during, and just after the TOM. I've seen other posters refer to gaining 5-10 lbs. But, it all disappears afterwards. Some posters even experience a little whoosh afterwards (although I have yet to). Best advice, DO NOT GO NEAR THE SCALE right before your TOM!

Oh, yeah! I never used to have TOM weight gain before. For the last two cycles, I've gone up 4 pounds. Thankfully, it all went away within a few days. Try not to get discouraged if it happens. You KNOW that it's impossible to gain fat on this diet if you're doing it correctly...so don't let that mean ol' scale get you down!

Not only do I gain 3 pounds, but my waist usually puffs out a bit. I am anywhere from .2-.5 inch bigger in my waist than I was last week.

Thanks,I have read about this happening before just wanted to ask again. Because I dont want to freak out if I gain weight before Tom. Now I know to stay away from the scale.
