Default Where to buy lc peanut butter

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know where I can find a lc peanut butter? I will even make it if anyone knows of a recipe. I make lc bread and my husband is dying for peanut butter to go along with his jelly.

Thanks.

I don't think there is LC peanut butter, per se, but you should look for all natural peanut butter, which only contains peanuts and perhaps salt. The regular brands contain sugar and transfatty acids and more junk.

I personally buy macadamia nut butter because it's 1 carb/ 2tablespoons. It's $5 for 8 or 16 oz, depending on the brand. When I find the 16 oz, I buy a bunch. Whole Foods sells it; not sure who else. For the natural PB, I've seen it at the regular chain grocery stores like Kroger and Meijer's.

Saltnpeppa,

Thanks for responding so quickly. The macadamia nut butter sounds great!! Also I am going shopping at Meijers tomarrow so I will pick up some natural PB.

This goes out to Jesdorka,

Thanks for the tip on the PB at Walmart. I will definitely look for the Adams brand as LC Peanut Butter cookies are in the near future.

Thanks Joanne,

I never even thought of Jiffy. I guess I was only thinking about the natural products and actually a good pb recipe. I am relieved that I don't have to make it though!!!

Joanne.... what is the CARB count on the jiffy and kraft sugar FREE PB? [and....are they ZERO sugar? Never saw zero sugar in PB. Peanuts have their own natural sugar, so it must be no sugar ''added'' which wouldn't make them ZERO in the counts under 'nutrition facts']

I found an unsweetened/unsalted one by Kraft...you're right though, it's NOT 0 carbs...for every tbsp there are 2.1g of carbs. But it's still nice once in a while to liven up celery (I get cheap about where I want my carbs coming from, lol, 1 tbsp of ANYTHING doesn't cut it!!)

I use the smuckers natural.

It has peanuts and salt and nothing else.

There is a carb options one but it has trans fats in it. I am guessing the jiffy would have trans fats too.

I finally received the soynut butter [two versions] and will tell you all about it when i have more time, but it's delicious and very little difference than peanut butter, almost none if you served this blindly to someone they wouldn't REALLY know the difference. It's better than SOME peanut butters!
