Question Technical Question on Private messages

I've noticed that at the bottom of posted messages, there is an option for sending a private message (pm). However, when I click on the icon, I end up getting a message that I don't have access to that page. I tried again with a different person just to see if it made a difference if the person was online or not. Same result. I don't have a problem posting the question, but since it was not directly related to the topic, figured that a private post would be more appropriate. Am I doing something wrong? I am loged on at the time I attempt to PM...so that isn't the problem.
Thanks for any response.

Meadow

Hi Meadow, for whatever reason, new members cannot private message anyone until they've posted 25 times...you are at 11 posts right now (see left side of screen under your name). Only a few more to go...

Any forum is the occasion target of various spammers and the like and one thing that they like to do is flood the members with private messages. By requiring all users to post at least 25 messages, the admins can usually identify these people (which are usually some type of "bot" - a program) and prevent them from doing this.

Oh yes....having been a chat room host, I'm very familiar with those horrible spam programs. I appreciate the extra precaution the administration is taking. Makes good sense. Thank you.
