I was just at Starbucks closest to where I work in Scarborough and I was searching for a Splenda pack (that's always next to the Sweet and Low and Equal) and there was none, when I asked for some the Barista told me that they aren't bringing it back....he said it was banned....thoughts?

It's probably because people keep stealing them. In the UK we can't buy the splenda sachets retail so I usually 'pick them up' from retail outlets like MacDonalds and some coffe shops

That is most likely why it got *banned*. People were taking them
and it was costing them too much to keep replacing the packets.

Hmmm... I guess I better get out there and steal as many as I can before they're gone...!

LOL!! It's cheaper then buying it.

I talked to my Starbucks. Toronto recieved it by "mistake". It's an American product number and they are having a hard time ordering it. They said to call the head office and make a comment.

BTW, I saw the packets at my local Shoppers Drug Mart (Vic Park and Danforth), and it was $7.79 for 100 packets! I believe Sugar Twin, etc is less than $2 at Dominion!

They also had it at Starbucks in Belleville for a while, not it is gone as well.

That sucks. I find Splenda the absolute best for using in coffee. Sugar Twin has a bit of an off taste to me.

I just bring my own in a ziplock now. It's easier. I like the taste and that's what I want in my latte.

So call the number and tell them how MUCH you appreciated having them there. And how it made you come there instead of Second Cup or Timothy's - even if it didn't.

WalMart has the best prices for Splenda in packets & bulk. Right now, they are out of Liquid Sugar Twin all over the city - a supply problem. I sure hope it gets solved quickly.

Take your own Splenda packets - it's worth it.
