Nitnee, don't bail, please!

You shouldn't expect to lose more than 10% of the weight you want to lose on induction.

From your stats, it looks like you have about 45 lbs to lose.

Thusly, you're already at 13%.

Hang in there. Your body will adjust, and you will lose weight gradually.

Why are you unhappy? You are doing great.

This is not a quick weight loss diet. We are to learn to eat healthier for the rest of our lives. If you are looking for quick loss, you are doomed for failure. There is no such thing as a quick loss diet that will maintain the weight when you reach goal. This is for life!!

Celebrate your success!!

Frustrated?? When was the last time you lost 6 lbs in a week and a half? You've lost 15% of your weight so far. That is EXCELLENT! A lot of people don't even make the 10% mark during the full induction. You should be doing a cartwheel!

Don't despair. You can't ask any more out of your body than it's already giving. Your progress is wonderful. Keep it up!!

6lbs in 10 days - losing 15% of the weight you want to lose is fantastic!!!

Balance it in your mind, eating low fat, low calorie, plain, bland food or losing weight eating 'luxury' foods, steaks, eggs, cheese, oils and fresh veggies - I know which WOE eating I prefer and I'm now losing instead of gaining

Talking Good Work!

Well, well, let me get this straight, in ten days you've managed to lose 6lbs. that calculates to a little over 1/2 pound a day! or 21,000 calories in 10 days! Wow! You should have your own infommercial. I don't know about you, but that's a lot of fat and I have yet to see an informerical make that claim. Hey, whether you stay or go, the time is going to pass anyway, so why not just "let" it happen? I am. Your body is still adjusting.

What have you got to lose but more fat, say another 21,000 calories? Ten bucks says it will double!

Are you kidding me? That's great!! I've been on Atkins for 30 days and have lost 4 1/2 pounds. And I'm REFUSING to give up!

Keep up the good work--just don't expect to lose 6 pounds every week. It will slow down to a pound or two.

Where did you hear that 15 pounds was normal? Have you read the book, it has some stats there.
For women:
Less that 20 pounds to lose anywhere from 2 to 6 (averages)
20 - 50 pounds to lose anywhere from 3 to 9 (averages)
Over 50 pounds to lose anywhere from 4 to 12 (averages).

From the sounds of it, you have a good metabolic resistance since you are not on the low end of the spectrum.
Also, we can't compare ourselves to others - which is something I try and keep remembering. We also don't lose like we used to I'm finding. I've never been this heavy - even after kids (of course the anti depression meds had a lot to do with this last round of weight) - and I've never had such a hard time getting it off!

Good luck tho and keep plugging away. I figure I better prepare myself to be the tortoise and not the hare! LOL

Oh, and 6 pounds is great!!!

TRW1966: I am moving kinda slow too. What say we synchronize our weight loss and see what happens in 60 days? Let me know. I gave my scale away, I'll go to my doctor's office and weigh in. Cool? Anyone else is also welcome. I'm just curious. Weigh-in for fun 1x a month.
