Exclamation Need Help with Increased appetite

I have just recently started taking a medication that increases appetite. For 3 days now I can't get enough to eat. I am afraid that my hard work so far will go down the tubes If I don't get this under control. I have been snacking on deviled eggs, shrimp and bacon (SO FAR) I am worried with this increase of food I will gain? I haven't so far. Anyone have any suggestions what I can snack on that will not hurt my program? Should I keep to just protein?

Dear Redhead,

Try drinking water with everything you put in your mouth.... Therefore you will feel fuller and satisfied much faster.

For instance, with my lunch I always drink 1 average size bottle of water, while I am cooking dinner... Then I eat.

I have a slight problem with eating to musch if I allow myself to, and this seems to help me out a bit.

This is touchy.... but try having an occasional diet coke or something to possibly satisfy your hunger as well, thats if aspartame doesn't bother you.

You could also break your means up into mini meals, maybe 5 or 6....

Then your constant hunger is being satisfied. Your hard work should not down the tubes if you don't eat too much, because remember, on low carb diets you can actually consume more calories than on other low fat diets.

So don't fret cuz if worst comes to worst, your losses could slow, as long as you are not eating in insane amounts, you should not see any weight gain.

Hope this helps!

Hi Redhead!!
I was having the same problem-Always hungry and could not get enough to eat sometimes (not because of meds though)
Are you still at Induction levels? If you are past Induction try upping your carbs 5 g one week and if you still loose then up them another 5g the next week.
This is what I was told to do and it has helped me alot!!!

Good Luck!!

Just out of curiosity, are your pills coated?
Meds that are coated may or may not contain sugar or a form of sugar.

Is the weight gain a temporary side-effect with this med??
Some meds have a temporary adverse effect craving more food.

I would just each smaller meals more frequently like Tabno suggested
and keep water handy.
