Default Pork Roast

WOW did I flub up good...I intended to make Italian roast beef but I accidentally bought a pork roast. That was the best flub I've ever made and sooooo easy.

Italian Pork Roast
1 3-5 lb. pork butt or any other cut
1 pkg. dry au jus mix
1 pkg. dry italian dressing mix
1 c. water

Combine the water with the mixes. Cut slits in roast and pour mix over pork roast. Let marinate in the mixture over night. In the morning, transfer to crockpot, juice and all, and cook on low for about 8 hrs. It was sooo juicy and tender. I had that with some mashed fauxtatoes and I think that was the best meal I've had on this diet.

I hope you enjoy!!

This sounds good...we're always on the lookout for recipes that are easy-fix for busy people. Thanks for sharing your "mistake."

This sounds wonderful. I have a pork loin roast that I just seasoned with garlic and seasoned salt in the refrigerater because Hubby and son are gone tonight. But I have several more in the deep freeze. I will try this out. I have started using brown in bags to cook these in the oven, a 2lb roast takes about an hour and a half. I bet this would work for your recipie as well. Especially if you don't have 8 hours to wait on the crockpot. Thanks for the idea!!

Hi, HippyChick (though from your stats it doesn't sound like you're very hippy anymore).

I just did a search for a pork roast recipe, and this one popped up. Sounds good, but I don't have au jus mix. Think I could substitute chicken broth or beef broth for the water? I do have the dry Italian dressing mix.

Mistakes in cooking often yield the best results! And if you ask me, this recipe sounds way better for pork than it does for beef.

I don't see why you couldn't substitute beef broth.
