Default Yummy snack

I've discovered a great snack for on the run - taking to work etc.

I is an individually packaged salami stick called a "little ripper" not sure who, other than NZ might have them. But my question is this.

The packaging says that each stick has "traces" of carbs - I've been counting them as 1 carb to be safe, but the ingredients also includes Dextrose, presumably that is a sort of sugar?

Does anyone know, and do you think it is likely that this would add to the carb count

Hi Lesley,

Yes, dextrose is sugar. Saying trace, may imply less than 1 gram. But this would depend on labeling laws in New Zeland, as each country has it's own acceptable standards of food labeling.

thanks Wa'il

It's a bit of a bugger really, but they're so darn good I'll just keep assuming they are a full one carb and hope that also includes the count for the dextrose

Cool hi Lesley

Yes, those little pepperoni/salami/peperami sticks are popular the world over. Some brands I've seen are Slim Jims and Hot Rods.

Corrine T. Netzer's Complete Book of Food Counts lists them at 2.0 carbs for 1 oz (30gm)
