Default flax meal!!! what do i do with it???

I bought flax meal and want to know what to do with it other than add it to my shakes and whatnot. Can it be eaten as cereal? it IS 100% fiber so it is carb free, and I like fiber in the morning as it...cleans me out. You know what I mean.

I make the Best FlaxSeed Muffins all the time using different flavored syrups. They are the best!

Best Flaxseed Muffins
½ cup Splenda (or ¼ cup DaVinci syrup ¼ cup Splenda...or whatever you feel like doing at the moment..)
½ stick salted butter, melted
½ cup flaxmeal
¾ cup shake mix
½ tsp. baking powder
1 egg
¼ tsp. vanilla
¼ cup heavy whipping cream
1 ½ tbls. vegetable oil

Mix wet ingredient in bowl, beat well
Mix dry ingredients in second bowl.
Mix wet into dry, stir until smooth.
Bake 15-20 minutes at 350*

I make mine using the small size muffin pans. I figured it to be about 1carb (maybe slightly more) per muffin. Of course, it varies depending on the shake mix you use, whether or not you use all Splenda (or half Splenda, half syrup) etc. Their very filling, too.

is "flaxmeal" the same thing as "flax seed"? I've never seen flaxmeal, but even out local grocery store has flax seed. Thanks. Sorry to be so ignorant.

Grind up your flax seeds and you have flax meal. Your body does not digest a whole flax seed, needs to be ground up to get any benefits from them.

When you say they need to be ground to get any benefit - is that including the protein and carbs?

I was making a porridge type stuff most days out of flax seed and ground almonds, but I've changed over to grinding the flax seeds - I'm doing it the night before and keeping them in an airtight tub in the fridge to throw in the back of the car first thing in the morning - I go to the gym, then eat the porridge when I get to work.

When they're ground it seems harder to eat that as seeds.... I was using 100g (which is about 4oz) of seeds for porridge, but 50g (about 2oz) of meal seems a bit of a struggle....
