Default Got a Peek at my Charts

I stopped by the doctor today...He was glad to see Atkins had worked...But, I still get the feeling he doesn't fully understand it. He seems to think its a Steak, Eggs, and Bacon diet. But, to the point...I got a peek at my charts and wrote down my weights for the last 7 years (that's as far back as the charts went.) I used that to make a graph of my weight over time. I had to extrapolate in some places because I didn't go to the doctor for long periods. It was interesting to note all the times I'd tried unsucessfully to lose my excess weight (about once a year). I would lose 10-20 pounds and level off or even start gaining again.

I also noted when my weight tended to spike...It spiked each time I attended Summer School [in High School.] Of course, that shouldn't suprise me...they don't serve lunch and you weren't allowed to leave campus (under threat of suspension, which during the summer pretty much garuntees you will not receive a passing grade.) On the school grounds the clubs would sell Bagels, Cookies, and Candy. You could also get soda from the machines...There were no other choices: Refined Flour, Refined Sugar, or Nothing.

Interestingly enough, my greatest gain was 1998-1999 (my last year of HS.) I still don't understand that, because I can't remember eating much differently than prior years. But, I managed to gain 84 pounds in 13 months.

BTW, I'm getting my Lipids checked on Wednsday (couldn't do it today). I don't have before numbers (didn't get the book until 3 weeks after I started,) so I'm hoping they will be in the normal range...so, I can prove [to a few family/friends who still buy the anti-atkins propoganda] Atkins is not harming me.

The last weight on the chart is my weight on the Doctor's scale, which is 10 pounds higher than the one at home. I guess it could have been [in part] because I had just eaten (reason they couldn't do the lipids today.) I still think its slightly off.

Interesting chart! I like the drop recently in particular. I have all my weights tracked for the last year and I like to chart it out every once in a while.

don't forget that if you are using fitday, you can get a chart with your weight over time under REPORTS. It keeps reminding me - that while it is sloooow it is coming off!
