Unhappy I can't get passed Moderate Ketones.

For some reason, no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get passed the moderate level of ketosis.

Who's gotten passed the moderate level? What's your daily menu?

I need some help here. I'm trying to reach my goal by April 1st which is not that far away.

Well, if you must see dark purple, drink less water and more caffine, but it is NOT recomended. Moderate to light is perfection. If you go heavy, you may be dehydrated and should drink more fluids.

The other way is to do a heavy workout. Lifting and cardio/basketball will turn my sticks dark purple for the first urine or two, but then back to light.

Keep in mind, if your in Ketosis, no matter what stage, your body is burning fat for fuel.

Dont get too hung up on the sticks. I go by my breath/taste more than the sticks.

Good luck,

Ron

I agree with Mr Fish. The stix arent whats most important. The more water U drink the lighter your stix will be. The amount of fat you ate at your last meal makes a difference too. The more fat---the more ketones. I had 3 solid weeks where my stix wouldnt turn but I was still losing weight and inches. So take a big breath..it will be ok...lol

With the othere ChattyKat, I don't even use my sticks anymore...I can tell when I am in Ketosis...just listen to your body. Also, according to your stats..you're losing weight wonderfully, so don't sweat it. Just keep drinking your water...lots and lots!!

Okay everybody,

is there any reason why a person would not go into ketosis .... I eat less than 20 carbs a day and feel I have stalled

Default hey Jazzy

How long where U in Ketosis or should I say were the stix still turning color? Its very likley you still are in ketosis. I wrote earlier that I couldnt change my stix to anything for more than 3 weeks? why? have NO idea....the amount of water U have will make a difference and what U have eaten the previous meal will too. The best advice I have seen from many others in here is to NOT worry about the stix. U could try to things to start losing again. 1st exercise a bit more and 2nd try having 2 days where U eat 35 grams of carbs [ or there abouts] then have a few days where U stay at 20 again. Maybe that will kick off more weight loss for U

Stall=6 weeks or more with no loss in inches or weight.

Anything less than this isn't considered stalling.

Have you taken measurements? Use that for reinforcement not the scale. Remember while your body is getting rid of the fat stores, some muscle is taking over the space. Muscle is heavier than fat.

Remember to drink plenty of water, make sure you are eating enough calories a day. Notice I said calories not carbohydrates. Eating too few calories a day will cause you to stall as well.

If you are drinking lots of water, those cute little strips may not be showing because you are doing exactly what needs to be done and that is flushing those ketones out of your system. If you are losing inches and pounds....you are in ketosis. Don't put so much faith in those paper strips, use them as a guide...
