Default A small victory!!

My stepchildren's mother is on the Atkins Diet! I guess the kids have told her how they eat LC when at our house, and that they really liked the food, and that they didn't even mind eating SF jello or chocolate INSTEAD of icecream for dessert. They started asking her to make stuff that way too!!! Such good kids.

Anyway, she apparently started reading up on it and decided to give it a shot since she has about 30 pounds she wants to lose and is always tired.

It is such a relief to not have to 'retrain' the kids thinking after they've spent the week there.

Resistance is futile!!!

Great job with those kids.! Its so hard to get the children to want to eat the right way. This past week my 15 year old (Mr. Fastfood) said that he wants to start eatting my way to since he has seen the energy boost in me.

Thumbs up A HUGE victory

Great job Atiaran ! You are teaching them eating habits that will hopefully stay with them forever and their Mom. Part of good parenting is instilling good eating habits especially when we are all bombarded with all kinds of junk food.

Congrats on your pregnancy! How are you doing at manintenance levels?

Peace

I am doing well. I try to get around 50 to 60 g carbs per day and have not put on any weight yet. My doctor is monitoring me closely since she knows I normally eat this way, but she is a little concerned about effects to the baby. She says to make sure I get tons of calcium. No prob since I love cheese.

Today has been my first day where I feel mild nausea, and I just hope I can manage to eat all the food I need to. So far I have not had any morning sickness, tiredness, or other early symptoms. But it's only been 5 wks - I'm sure it'll kick in soon!

I love that, Atiaran! (I hope that quote insert worked, I'm new at this)

The greatest weapon is word of mouth and sharing sucess! I found out about atkins from my room mate, who had lost 50 lbs on it years ago. So my BF and I tried it and are doing great. I told my folks about it and now my dad has lost about 20 lbs so far, and I've gotten several friends and aquaintances at least considdering it. We all have to do this and convert the world so we can increase the market and start having easier low carb options around (I know, I'm an atkins megalomaniac.)
