Unhappy Wheat Intolerance

So I've always wondered why my stomach problems went away when Ive been on Atkins in the past. When I changed from Atkins to CAD my stomach problems came back (gas bloating loose stools cramping etc..) I thought it was just high carbs in general until.... I over carbed my rm a few days ago. We went out to a chinese resturant and I had a little salad and pork fried rice (not the best choice I know) One thing I noticed though is that my stomach didnt feel yukky after I ate.

I have been experimenting... I can have corn, rice, and sugar without feeling funky. Wheat makes me feel ill.

I'm sad to have to give up or at least cut down on wheat drastically.

Anyone else allergic or intolrant to wheat?

Is it possible to become alleric to something that you've never had a problem with before? My stomach issues just started a few years ago.

I am. Feels like something is eating at my stomach. Wheat allergy can be deveoped at any time. Mine started last year with the burning stomach but I've always retained water. I think I was always sensitive but the symptoms worsened when I really overdid last year.

I learned that I am wheat-intolerant when I started Atkins. It's not bad, but sometimes can trigger a common migraine for me. I also have more gas and feel bloated. It's very "dose-related" for me. A few crackers = gas. A sandwich = headache.

It's good that you were able to "listen" to your body and figure out what the problem is.

I'm not sure but I think wheat triggers diarrhea for me...especially if I don't control the amount. I'm not much of a bread person any way but I do enjoy the occasional dinner roll and seem okay with that but I notice if I go off program and start having sandwhiches and such I get diarrhea.
