Default New here, and a question :)

Hi, I'm new here, just found it

I'm 19, male, 6 foot 3 tall and weigh 11 and half stone but don't let that fool you, cos I'm VERY conscious of getting a bit heavy on top.

At the moment I'm not skinny, nor am I large, but I REALLY want to shift a bit of excess weight off my belly and pecs, I'm very conscious of getting what my friends affectionately call "man breasts".

Don't get me wrong I haven't got any yet, but they've definitely been growing the last month so I've decided to step up and try and shift a bit before the summer starts, because summer = less clothes wearing = more exposure etc.

At the same time, I've got quite skinny legs, and I want to build up my leg muscles.

So I've decided to get a cycle machine this week, and this will obviously hopefully boost up my leg muscles.

But the question I want to ask is :

Will using the exercise bike regularly help my upper body AT ALL? I'm only a poor student and can barely afford a exercise bike let alone something else, so I'm praying the answer to this question is YES! Or Even at least a little bit!

I can't stand gyms, and I live in the centre of town = lack of parks nearby to properly exercise in.

Thanks for any replies

No. Your diet and cardio work will help with fat loss, which will occur over your whole body, but as for building muscle in your upper body, you will have to train the muscles directly to build them.

You can get a great workout without uisng fancy equipment ... I think there is a tread in here somewhere about Weightless Workouts ... look through some of the old posts in the Exercise Forum, I am pretty sure I remember it being here ...
