Wheat Bran

Has anyone ever used Wheat Bran instead of Bread Crumbs for fried meals (Chicken, Fish,) or Filler (MeatLoaf, Crab Cakes)??

Trouble with wheat bran is it's about 50% carbs. Parmesan cheese, crushed pork rinds or even almond flour are quite useful for breadcrumbing and filling.
