Default Water pills?

I am retaining a lot of fluid in my ankles, feet and wrists. I am drinking over a gallon of water a day. I do have water pills but I have stopped taking them because of the diretic affect that Atkins diet has on you. Does anyone else have this problem and are you taking water pills?
Thanks for your help.

Karen

Hi Karen,

Were the water pills you have medically prescribed? And if so, were you taken off them by your doctor?

I think it's time for a trip back to see your doctor. Let him/her decide whether or not you still need them.

All the best!

Rosebud

Hi Rosebud,

Yes the doctor has prescribed the water pills for me. I was recently there to see him and he asked if I was still taking the water pills because I was getting very lightheaded. We decided my blood pressure was low so he told me to stop taking the blood pressure pills. I do have an appt next week with an endocrinologist to check on a possible thyroid problem.

Thanks for your reply and I will let you know what is going on.

Karen
