Default Ocean Spray Light (need help with "ecc" carb count)

Hi there! Just got Ocean Spray Light... and I am trying to figure out how many Actual carbs there are in here...

Here's the label... can you help?

Ocean Spray Light, Cran-Grape Juice
contains 25% fruit juice

Serving Size 8 fl oz (240 mL) 1 cup
Servings per container 8

Calories 40
Total Fat 0
Sodium 75
Postassium 30
Total Carbohydrate 10g
Sugars 10g
Protein 0g

Vitamin C 130%

INGREDIENTS:
Filtered Water, Grape Juice from Concentrate, Cranberry Juice from Concentrate, Natural Flavors, Fumaric Acid, Sodium Citrate, Asorbic Acid (Vitamin C), Sucralose (SPLENDA BRAND)

So, here's my question... if its sweetened with Splenda... does that mean I can disregard the "Sugars 10g"... better yet... does that mean that I can subtract the Sugars from the Carbs... thus making this 0?

I wouldn't see it being 0... since it does have cranberry and grape juice in it... but it is really 10 carbs eventhough its sweetened with Splenda?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP! This bottle is calling my name...

hi Steph,

Alas .. you can't subtract the carbs Those 10g of carbs come from naturally occuring sugars present in the unsweetened juices. All fruits will have some sugars in them, even cranberries which are so tart!

Try mixing it 50:50 with club soda or Perrier. That way you'll cut the carbs in half, and still have a nice drink to enjoy with your meal.

For the record, regular Ocean Spray cocktail has 35g carbs per 8 fl oz cup

Ok, well, I am officially sad (and out $3.19). But I like the idea of adding it to club soda. Maybe I will use it as a breakfast substitution... although I can't see myself stopping at just 8oz! WHY was I thinking it would be 0 carbs? I guess I got confused with sugar alcs, etc. SHAME ON ME! Now I've got this stuff... calling my name. ack!

Thanks Doreen for the quick reply! Both here and in PM!
